FAQ about 3D EXplorer Truespace plug-in

Do I need to produce a setup program to distribute the runtime player and my objects?

No, you can do it if you need it, but the runtime player doesn't require any kind of setup, neither the registration of libraries, simply copy the player and the directory where  objects and textures are stored. The only library required is, of course, Directx 8.0. Get more info about the Stand-alone Player

Do you plan to make this plug-in for 3D Studio, Lightwave or some other 3D modeler?

Probably, in the next future.

What's the performance of the 3D Explorer runtime player?

The player is really fast, but the performance could depends on the graphic adapter used, the complexity of the objects and the resolution you choose. We had excellent results starting from a Matrox G200 at 800x600 on a Pentium II 350.

Is it necessary a 3D Graphic card?

Yes, starting from the 8.0 version of Directx, Microsoft has removed the software emulation of the 3D chip. In every case, the emulation wasn't so good.

Is the runtime player compatible with Windows 2000?

Yes, it is.

Does the plug-in support the Truespace objects animations?

Not yet, we have to wait for future release.

You can walk, strafe, fly, zoom, use the mouse or keyboard. You can setup the graphic adapter to use, resolution, color depth, the size of the window (title bar, always on top, resizable, full screen, wireframe mode, ecc..), or use the default settings.
