FAQ about 3D EXplorer Custom Service

What kind of source data do you need to produce the 3D world?

We accept the most known kind of 3D file types, like DXF, 3DS, COB, OBJ, LWO, X. Anyway, if 3D objects are not available, we can accept pictures and graphical designs.

Do I need to produce a setup program to distribute the runtime player and my objects?

The package includes a setup program as a facility, although the runtime player itself doesn't require any kind of registration of libraries. The only library required is, of course, Directx 8.0. Get more info about the Stand-alone Player

What's the performance of the 3D Explorer runtime player?

The player is really fast, but the performance could depend on the graphic adapter used, the complexity of the objects and the resolution you choose. We had excellent results starting from a Matrox G200 at 800x600 on a Pentium 133 Mhz.

Is it necessary a 3D Graphic card?

Yes, starting from the 8.0 version of Directx, Microsoft has removed the software (RGB) emulation of the 3D chip. In every case, the emulation wasn't so good.

Is the runtime player compatible with Windows 2000?

Yes, it is compatible with all Win32 OS (except NT).

You can walk, strafe, fly, zoom, use the mouse or keyboard. You can set the graphic adapter to use, resolution, color depth, the size of the window (title bar, always on top, resizable, full screen, ecc..), or use the default settings.
